Therapeutic Indications

  • The Product is recommended for use to treat the following:
  • It is used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to norfloxacin, such as infections of the urinary system

Usage Directions

  • Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
  • Have heart disease
  • Are allergic any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • Have salt imbalance in the blood
  • Have had a history of tendon problems
  • Have experienced a previous episode of aortic dissection (a tear in the aorta wall)
  • Have ever had an illness that causes fits (convulsions or stroke), such as epilepsy
  • Have been diagnosed with an enlargement or "bulge" of a large blood vessel (aortic aneurysm or large vessel peripheral aneurysm)
  • Have impaired kidney function
  • Experience diarrhoea, especially if you have severe, persistent and/or bloody diarrhoea
  • Have an illness called myasthenia gravis which causes muscle weakness
  • Or anyone in your family has anemia caused by an illness called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (also called G-6-PD deficiency)

Indicated Side Effects

  • Low white blood cells which may cause frequent infections, fever, severe chills, sore throat or mouth
  • Inflammation of the bowels called colitis (or antibiotic-associated colitis), causing severe long lasting watery diarrhoea with stomach cramps and fever
  • Kidney disorder
  • Swelling of your face, lips, tongue and throat, difficult to breathe or swallow
  • Yellowing of the skin and eyes, unusual tiredness or fever, dark colored urine
  • Abnormal kidney function test results
  • Changes in blood tests that check for liver problems
  • Nausea
  • Thrush (vaginal)
  • Fits (convulsions)
  • Rash, itching
  • Severe pain in the abdomen and back (signs of inflamed pancreas)
  • Changes in your eyesight, overflow of tears
  • Low or high levels of a specific type of white blood cells
  • Loss of appetite, vomiting
  • Bleed for a long time after a cut or bruise very easily
  • Heartburn, dry mouth, flatulence, stomach discomfort after meal, constipation
  • Tiredness, insomnia
  • Stomach pain and cramps

Interactions

  • Antimicrobials (belong to the group of macrolides)
  • Didanosine (used for HIV or AIDS)
  • Antipsychotics (used to treat psychosis)
  • Glibenclamide (used to treat diabetes)
  • Antacids (used for indigestion or heartburn)
  • Fenbufen (used for joint pain)
  • Sucralfate (used for stomach ulcers or an inflamed stomach (gastritis)
  • Warfarin, phenprocoumon or acenocoumarol (used to thin the blood)
  • Calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, zinc, multivitamins, minerals
  • Theophylline (used for breathing problems)
  • Please inform your doctor if you have recently consumed or are consuming any of the below mention medicine:
  • Caffeine
  • Anti-arrhythmic (e.g. quinidine, hydroquinidine, disopyramide, amiodarone, sotalol, dofetilide, ibutilide) (used to treat heart problems)
  • Probenecid (used for gout)
  • Tricyclic antidepressants (used to treat depression)
  • Ciclosporin, mycophenolic acid (used after transplants and for some other illnesses)
