Usage Directions
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.
Precautions & Warnings
Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Enalapril, or any of the other ingredients in these medicine
Are over 70 years of age
Have diabetics or impaired kidney function
Are on a salt restriction diet
Have a heart problem
Are having dialysis
Have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Have collagen vascular disease (e.g. lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma)
Have laryngeal edema, angioedema
Have low blood pressure
Have a condition involving the blood vessels in the brain
Are undergoing dialysis
Have a blood problem such as low or lack of white blood cells (neutropenia/agranulocytosis), low blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia) or fewer red blood cells (anemia)
Have a liver problem or develop jaundice (yellowing of the skin and white of the eye)
Indicated Side Effects
Blood disorders lower number of white and red blood cells, lower hemoglobin, lower number of blood platelets
Severe dizziness or lightheadedness (especially at the start of the treatment or when the dose is increased)
Stevens-Johnson syndrome' (reddening or scaling of your skin, blistering or raw sores)
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in breathing or swallowing
Inflammation of the liver, increase in liver enzymes or bilirubin (measured in tests), jaundice (yellowing of the skin and/or eyes)
Swelling of your hands, feet or ankles
Bone marrow depression (reduction in blood cell count)
A sudden, unexpected rash or burning, red or peeling skin
Ringing in your ears (tinnitus)
Sore throat or fever
Change in sense of taste, shortness of breath
Feeling dizzy, weak or sick
Increased potassium level, increased levels of creatinine in your blood
Blurred vision
Weakness or fatigue, depression
Cough
Low blood pressure, changes in heart rhythm, fast heartbeat, angina or chest pain
Diarrhea or abdominal pain, rash
Headache, fainting (syncope)
Indigestion, vomiting, constipation, anorexia (loss of appetite)
Low level of blood sugar or sodium, high level of blood urea
Slow movement of food through your intestine, inflammation of your pancreas
Skin disorder due to an allergic reaction or infection called erythema multiforme
Strange dreams or sleep problems
Lower amount of urine produced
Pulmonary infiltrates
Inflammation of the cheeks, gums, tongue, lips, throat
Inflammation of your nose
Pneumonia
Swelling in your intestine (intestinal angioedema)
Interactions
Please inform your doctor if you have recently consumed or are consuming any of the below mention medicine:
Aliskiren, beta blockers, vasodilators or water tablets (diuretics), medicine used to treat high blood pressure
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including COX-2-inhibitors (medicines that reduce inflammation, and can be used to help relieve pain)
Medicines containing potassium spironolactone, amiloride, and triamterene
Procainamide used to treat abnormal heart rhythms
Lithium, used for the treatment of certain kind of depression
Ciclosporin (immunosuppressive agents for autoimmune disorders)
Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline used for treating depression
Medicines for the treatment of cancer
Medicines for mental problems called 'antipsychotics'
Cholestyramine (used to help control cholesterol levels)
Certain pain or arthritis medicines.
Allopurinol(used to treat gout).
Barbiturates (sedatives used for sleeplessness or epilepsy)
Antacids (used for the relief of indigestion)
Cholestyramine (used to help control cholesterol levels)
Corticosteroids (used to treat certain conditions such as rheumatism, arthritis, allergic conditions, asthma or certain blood disorders
Antidiabetic drugs including oral agents to lower blood sugar and insulin
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) including COX-2-inhibitors, aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid)
Procainamide used to treat abnormal heart rhythms
Storage Condition
