Therapeutic Indications

• PIROXICAM is a pain relieving medicine. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain in condition such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It helps relieve pain and swelling in the joints and muscles.

Usage Directions

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Precautions & Warnings

• Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
• Risk may increase with duration of use
• Patients with risk factors for or existing cardiovascular disease may be at greater risk
• NSAIDs are contraindicated for perioperative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery (increased risk of MI and stroke)
• Gastrointestinal Risk : NSAIDs increase risk of serious gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events including bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach or intestines, which can be fatal
• Gastrointestinal Risk : GI adverse events may occur at any time during use and without warning symptoms
• Gastrointestinal Risk : Elderly patients are at greater risk for serious GI events
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, heart attack (myocardial infarction [MI]), and stroke, which can be fatal

• Side effects of piroxicam include:
• Indigestion
• Upper respiratory infection
• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Swelling (edema)
• Anemia
• Dizziness
• Constipation
• Vomiting
• Fever
• Chest pain (angina)
• Congestive heart failure
• High blood pressure (hypertension)

Interactions

• Please inform your doctor if you have recently consumed or are consuming any of the below mention medicine:
• Piroxicam has no known severe interactions with other drugs.
• Serious interactions of piroxicam include: apixaban , benazepril, captopril, enalapril,fosinopril,ketorolac, ketorolac intranasal

Storage Condition

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight or as mentioned on Product/Label.
