Therapeutic Indications

  • The Product is recommended for use to treat the following:
  • Anthrax inhalation exposure
  • Respiratory tract infections
  • To prevent and treat infections in patients with a very low white blood cell count (neutropenia)
  • Infection of ear or sinus (long lasting or recurring)
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Infections of genital organs in women
  • Gastro-intestinal tract infections
  • It is used in children to treat the following bacterial infections:
  • Anthrax inhalation exposure
  • Lung and bronchial infections
  • Complicated urinary tract infections, including infections that have reached the kidneys (pyelonephritis)
  • Suffering from cystic fibrosis

Usage Directions

  • Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
  • Have a history of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
  • Are allergic or hypersensitive to Ciprofloxacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • Have myasthenia gravis (a type of muscle weakness)
  • Have ever had kidney problems
  • Have a history of tendon problems
  • Suffer from epilepsy or other neurological conditions such as cerebral ischemia or stroke

Indicated Side Effects

  • Joint pains
  • Nausea, diarrhoea
  • Increase in blood alkaline phosphatase
  • Fungal superinfections
  • Pains in your muscles and bones, feeling unwell (asthenia), or fever
  • High concentration of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell
  • Poor kidney function
  • Loss of appetite (anorexia)
  • Rash, itching, or hives
  • Hyperactivity or agitation
  • Increased amounts of certain substances in the blood (transaminases and/or bilirubin)
  • Headache, dizziness, sleeping problems, or taste disorders
  • Vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion/heartburn
  • Fluid retention or excessive sweating
  • Inflammation of the bowel (colitis)
  • Urinary tract inflammation
  • Changes to the blood count, increased or decreased amounts of a blood clotting factor (thrombocytes)
  • Kidney failure, blood or crystals in the urine
  • Swelling (edema), or rapid swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (angio-edema)
  • Muscle pain, inflammation of the joints, increased muscle tone, or cramp
  • Increased blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Confusion, disorientation, anxiety reactions, depression or hallucinations
  • Liver disorders, jaundice (cholestatic icterus), or hepatitis
  • Pins and needles, unusual sensitivity to stimuli of the senses, decreased skin sensitivity, tremors, seizures, giddiness
  • Shortness of breath, including asthmatic symptoms
  • Eyesight problems
  • Expansion of blood vessels (vasodilation), low blood pressure, or fainting
  • Tinnitus, loss of hearing, impaired hearing
  • Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Worsening of the symptoms of myasthenia gravis
  • Hemolytic anemia
  • Muscle weakness, tendon inflammation, tendon rupture (Achilles tendon)
  • Agranulocytosis
  • Skin eruptions or rashes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Pancytopenia
  • Small, pin-point bleeding under the skin (petechiae)
  • Bone marrow depression
  • Death of liver cells (liver necrosis)
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic reaction or anaphylactic shock, serum sickness)
  • Pancreatitis
  • Migraine, disturbed coordination, unsteady walk (gait disturbance), disorder of sense of smell (olfactory disorders), pressure on the brain (intracranial pressure)
  • Inflammation of the wall of the blood vessels (vasculitis)
  • Visual color distortions

Interactions

  • Please inform your doctor if you have recently consumed or are consuming any of the below mention medicine:
  • Medicines or supplements containing calcium, magnesium, aluminum or iron
  • Warfarin or other oral anti-coagulants (used to thin the blood)
  • Polymeric phosphate binder (e.g. sevelamer)
  • Theophylline (for breathing problems)
  • Sucralfate
  • Phenytoin (used for epilepsy)
  • Mineral supplements
  • Probenecid (used for gout)
  • Caffeine
  • Ropinirole (used for Parkinson's disease)
  • Pentoxifylline (used for circulatory disorders)
  • Methotrexate (used for certain types of cancer, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Clozapine (used as an antipsychotic)
  • Tizanidine (used for muscle spasticity in multiple sclerosis)

Storage Condition
