Therapeutic Indications

• Lower the chance of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and a heart problem called left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH)
• Lower high blood pressure (hypertension)

Usage Directions

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Precautions & Warnings

• Have diabetes, asthma or gout
• Are allergic to LOSARTAN POTASSIUM & HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 50/12.5MG or any ingredients in this medicine
• Have systemic lupus erythematosus
• Are allergic to any sulfonamide-containing ("sulfa") medicines
• Have liver or kidney problems
• Are not passing urine
• Have been vomiting (throwing up), having diarrhea, sweating a lot or not drinking enough fluids since these could cause you to have low blood pressure
• Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:

Indicated Side Effects

• Worsening of liver functions marked by nausea, pain in the right upper stomach area (abdomen), yellow eyes or skin (which can be itchy)
• Injury or death of unborn babies
• Worsening of kidney functions marked by swelling in your feet, ankles or hands, or unexplained weight gain
• Allergic reaction marked by swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue
• A new or worsening condition called systemic lupus erythematosus
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

Interactions

• COX-2 inhibitors, medicines used to treat pain and arthritis
• Potassium supplements
• Lithium (a medicine used to treat a certain kind of depression)
• Diuretics
